Mrs. Roberts was elected to the Alabama State Board of Education in November of 2012.
District I includes Baldwin, Butler, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Escambia and a portion of Mobile Counties; and the following colleges: Jefferson Davis Community College; James H. Faulkner State Community College; Reid State Technical College; and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College.

Ran for the District 7 seat on the Baldwin County Board of Education and was elected to a six year term in 2004 during that term she served two years as Vice-President and two years as President. She was unopposed and re-elected in 2010.
