Alabama’s Future web site highlights long history of student success

For five decades, the Alabama Community College System’s colleges have shaped the lives of leaders, innovators and workers across the state. The system’s influence is far-reaching: each year, ACCS schools and programs touch the lives of more than 250,000 people across Alabama.

As part of an initiative to mark the 50th anniversary of its founding, ACCS has begun collecting student success stories and sharing them on its Alabama’s Future web site. These real-life testimonials demonstrate how people from every part of Alabama have used a community college education to defy long odds, land a dream job, launch a new career or start a new business.

“The stories that these people can tell will inspire the next generation of students to accomplish great things and make Alabama’s future even brighter,” says ACCS Chancellor Mark Heinrich.

Visit the Alabama’s Future web site and check out two dozen ACCS alumni success stories from around the state. Or you can watch videos produced for the project on the system’s Youtube channel, ACCS Student Success.
