Gadsden State among colleges benefiting from $1.4 million University of Alabama grant

Gadsden State Community College, along with eight other community colleges, will be included in a $1.4 million grant to foster science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, the college announced.

The grant is given to help the University's Noyce Scholars Program and will fund scholarships supporting secondary teachers and an internship program for freshmen and sophomores.

The program is set to begin Oct. 1, with internships starting next June. The grant expires in 2018.
