Trenholm State Achieves SACSCOC Accreditation

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) Board of Trustees announced on December 9, 2014, in Nashville, Tennessee at the 2014 SACSCOC Annual Meeting that H. Councill Trenholm State Technical College has been granted accreditation.  SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Latin America and other international sites that award associate or higher degrees.

Alabama Community College System employees mourn the loss of Dr. Judy M. Merritt who passed away on Sunday, Oct 19.  Dr. Merritt was the longstanding president of Jefferson State Community College. She retired from that position in June of this year.

Dual Enrollment: Graduating From High School With A College Degree

The dual enrollment program allows high school students to take courses that earn both college credit and high school credit simeloutaneously.  This allows students to either get ahead in their college education or to enter the workforce sooner with a marketable techical skill or trade.
