The Alabama Community College System facilitates the seamless transfer from our community colleges to selected independent (private) colleges and universities in Alabama through an articulation agreement signed with the Alabama Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AAICU). This agreement provides a transfer program similar to the STARS system in that it allows for transfer of credits from Alabama’s community colleges to four-year institutions. A STARS transfer agreement, if used correctly, will steer the student through his/her first two years of coursework and prevent loss of credit hours upon transfer to the appropriate public university. The AAICU 2 to 4 Transfer Program provides the same type of transfer guides and offers new opportunities for community college students to continue their education at one of Alabama’s independent colleges and universities.
AAICU TRANSFER GUIDES KEEP YOU ON THE RIGHT TRACK!
AAICU 2 to 4 TRANSFER ELIGIBLE STUDENTS
Incoming community college freshmen enrolling as of fall semester, 2010 will be eligible to participate in the new AAICU Transfer Program. Interested students who earned credits in or graduated from one of Alabama’s public two-year community colleges prior to fall semester, 2010 should contact the selected college directly to determine transfer eligibility. For these students, each participating independent college and universities will determine eligibility.
AAICU 2 to 4 TRANSFER PROGRAM COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES
As of January, 2015, thirteen of Alabama’s independent colleges and universities have signed articulation agreements with the Alabama Community College System and have provided transfer guides for selected majors. We expect additional colleges and universities will sign agreements soon.
