2-to-4 Transfer

The Alabama Community College System facilitates the seamless transfer from our community colleges to all of Alabama’s public and most of its independent (private) four-year colleges and universities.   Students who attend public two-year colleges in Alabama and plan to continue their education at one of the state’s four-year institutions can obtain approved transfer guides in their major.  These transfer guides, if used correctly, steer students through their first two years of coursework and prevent the loss of credit upon transfer to the selected public or private four-year institution in Alabama. This can mean huge savings in both time and money!

2 TO 4 TRANSFER IS THE NEXT STEP TO YOUR SUCCESS!

Our students are successful! More than half of all freshmen and sophomores in Alabama are enrolled in one of Alabama’s public two-year colleges. More than 16,000 or our community college students transfer yearly to a public four-year institution and studies show that most transfer students are just as successful as the students who started at the four-year institution.  The first step in ensuring that the success students experience at one of our community colleges continues at the four-year level is to choose a major and print the corresponding transfer guide for the college or university of choice using the appropriate website – the STARS website for public universities or the AAICU 2-to-4 Transfer Program page of this website for independent institutions.
