What Identification Must I Present When Applying to Take the Test?
All applicants must present
their U.S. Social Security Number (SSAN) or U.S. Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) that
will be used in all record keeping systems for the purpose of identification verification. You must also
present to the GED Examiner a valid government identification card that includes your photograph, legal name,
birth date, address, and signature. A current identification card issued by a member institution of the Alabama
Community College System is also acceptable as long as your photograph, name, birth date, address, and signature
are included. Expired or altered identification documents are not acceptable.
