Mission

The Office of Government Relations serves the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) by advancing the strategic interests of ACCS among State, city and federal elected officials and government agencies, as well as with civic and business leaders. In pursuit of this mission, the Division strives to conduct itself in a highly visible and ethical manner. Objectives include:

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with State, city and federal officials, as well as with representatives from governmental and community agencies and the business community.
  • Inform legislators on issues concerning ACCS and education policy development and legislation.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative efforts between the institutions in order to influence State, city and federal legislation impacting ACCS.
  • Track and report governmental relations activities.
