The Tests of General Educational Development (GED Tests) are developed by the General
Educational Development Testing Services (GEDTS) of the American Council on Education
(ACE). The GED Tests are designed to measure the major and lasting academic outcomes
students normally acquired by completing a typical high school program of study
and are available to adults who did not graduate from high school. In the state
of Alabama, the GED Tests are offered in English, Spanish and French. The passing
standard for the GED Tests is a total score of not less than 2250 total points with
an average standard score of not less than four hundred fifty (450) on the total
battery AND not less than four hundred ten (410) on each of the five (5) tests in
